Jurann, admin of furry auction site FurBuy, announces that FurBuy will close down May 15th unless more money comes in. Apparently, FurBuy has been running at a loss since its start in 2000 and only survived this long thanks to a generous “primary financier". Rather than offering an actual business plan, Jurann asks for donations, which will be rewarded with “Contributing Memberships and a special Early Supporter title".
FurNation webmaster Nexxus announces that unless more donations roll in, the site will close down October 1st:
FurNation started in November of 1996 as a simple web hosting site. Since then it has grown to be a center peice of the furry fandom for chatting and finding new friends.
Unfortunatly, I have paid out of pocket for the service since its inception. Donations have helped, along with the income that FurPlanet generated to support the service. Since I have sold FurPlanet to Argyll Productions the server fees are once again running me into a lot of debt.
We were getting help on the server fees, but the debt I have to pay back is getting way out of control. I would like to keep the server running with donations alone, but last month we managed only 135 dollars toward the total monthly fees of 400 dollars. I do appreciate those who donated, and I put the money towards the fees.
Unfortunatly, if the present trend continues, FurNation will have to close its doors as of October 1st, 2008. I do not wish to do this, but the rising debt I am accumulating will force this issue upon me.
If you would like to keep FurNation online, please consider a donation for the service. Once again, if we have to close its been a hell of a 12 year run and I have had a great time providing this service to the community.
Written by Alex Vance, illustrated by Ayato and coloured by a small army of furry artists, Heathen City volume 1: “Always on the run” is 48 full colour pages of furry crime suspense comic book, which the author with great self-assurance says “raises the bar for anthropomorphic fiction". CYD reads and reviews.

Furry Art Pile is officially as dead as a dodo. It was not taken down by the sort of avoidable hardware failure that killed Yerf and routinely renders FurAffinity inoperative. FAP site owner Dylan explains:
FAP started two years ago to satisfy an itch, to be a better art website. For furries.
In this time, FAP grew into a very fun project. I developed solutions to very difficult technical problems, created new user interfaces, and learned a lot about maintaining a social website.
Two years later, this isn’t fun for me anymore. I spend too much time everyday developing new features and optimizing the code to perfection; I never have time for my other projects. (Trust me, they’re awesome projects).
So, I’m closing FAP.
Thank you for using FAP,
Dylan
Ten years on from SqueeRat’s “This Sordid Little Business” (aka “The Furry Manifesto")link, Calbeck exhumes this once-popular dead horse to produce a reading of it.
So, what the hell. Since most of the fandom knows nothing but legends about how much a bunch of jerks Burned Fur was for supporting Charla’s vision, I decided to go ahead and do a reading of the original screed and see what happens.
